Liverpool will be crowned as Premier League champions for the 2024-25 campaign with four games remaining, should they manage to avoid defeat against Tottenham Hotspur in Sunday’s clash at Anfield.
Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace on Wednesday evening means that Arne Slot’s side only require a single point this weekend to be crowed as champions, and they will fancy their chances of getting the job done against a struggling Tottenham outfit.
Chelsea will host Everton in the early start on Saturday, while Ipswich Town could be officially relegated on Saturday, with the strugglers, who are 15 points behind 17th-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers, in action away to Newcastle United.
Manchester United will also play on Sunday, with the Red Devils heading to Bournemouth, and Ruben Amorim’s side will be aiming to secure a positive result ahead of the first leg of their Europa League semi-final against Athletic Bilbao.

How did you come to support Blackburn and what are your favourite memories from your time as a fan?
Faris: I’ve been a Blackburn fan since I was seven, in 1993. Everyone else at school was a Liverpool or Man United fan and initially I loved the fact that they seemed like the underdog – which with Jack Walker’s cash probably wasn’t the case in hindsight!
It’s a bit of a different story with Jack as he loved the club. Obviously the mid-90s team was full of great players – Alan Shearer, Chris Sutton, Graeme Le Saux, Tim Flowers. I especially loved Tim Flowers as I played in goal at the time.
Probably my favourite memory is when they won the Worthington Cup in 2000 which sounds stupid, but it was special because I was old enough to appreciate it. My favourite story is when Jack Walker wouldn’t sign [Zinedine] Zidane because they already had Tim Sherwood!
Who have been your favourite five players for Blackburn?
Faris: There are so many! Ok, Alan Shearer aside, in no particular order: Graeme Le Saux, as he sort of went against the grain in terms of typical footballer personalities, famously reading the Guardian in a locker room full of tabloids. A quality left back who would have played more often for England if it wasn’t for injury.
David Dunn. A technically gifted player who joined as a trainee and quickly ended up in the first team. 300-plus games for the club across two spells and then went into coaching at the club.
Brad Friedel. Legendary American goalkeeper who hit his peak at Blackburn and was consistently one of the best in the league for a few seasons. Almost single handedly responsible for our League Cup win in 2000.
Damien Duff. 100 caps for Ireland! It was so exciting when Duff emerged as an 18 year old left winger, getting man of the match on his debut.
Tugay. World-class Turkish central midfielder who probably hit top form too late for a move to one of the bigger clubs. I loved watching him, his positional awareness and passing were on another level.
What’s going on with the band at the moment?
Faris: We have just released our sixth album, Night Life, and we’re about to go into an endless run of touring around the world again, which we’re very happy about.
